Myriam Adams - I Want To Go Home

A few months ago I got the chance to interview the band Myriam Adams, so when they approached me earlier this week asking whether I'd like to post about their new single 'I Want To Go Home' and the music video I was more than happy to do so, especially since I've really enjoyed all the work they've put out previously.

Different from their other tracks, this song jumps straight into the chorus after a short introduction, which I really like as it's not done very often and nicely sets the song apart from a lot of others. It's definitely a very interesting track as there are lots of tempo changes and despite being almost five minutes long, it never gets boring. I especially like the contrast between the chorus at the beginning compared to near the end where there are heavier drums and layered vocals. One of the stand-out moments in the track for me has to be the the instrumental near the end as the vocals fade out, I really enjoy the synth these guys use in a lot of their tracks and think it really adds something.

This song definitely follows their previous work with that angsty tone that seems to work really well
for them as well as their audience, and that is definitely reflected in the overall aesthetic of the video as well. It's clear these guys really love adding effects in but I think that demonstrates how much thought they put into every aspect of the track, with how it looks to watch, not just the sound. My friend who saw them live commented on how their energy in the music video really matches their live energy which I think is great to hear as again they are putting effort into every aspect of their band. As a whole, the video pairs really well with the single, helping to bring it alive, and I look forward to hearing what Myriam Adams do next.

'I Want To Go Home' is out Friday 4th October at midnight in all the usual places, and you can watch the accompanying video from 6pm on the 5th October, their channel is linked here
