Another blog?
So here I am writing my first post on yet another blog, trying it again despite my multiple failed attempts in previous years. Although I'm not the best at English and have never been able to keep up a diary I do enjoy writing for fun, especially when it's something I'm passionate about. The problem with my blogs in previous years has been that I'd get tired of the topic after a few months and despite having virtually no readers, instead of just changing the topic to something else, I'd delete the blog and start a new one from scratch... I guess I just couldn't let the fans down. I'm hoping that now I'm slightly older I'm less fickle with my interests and even if my music taste changes, it's easier to change up the music included in posts as the overall topic of the blog would stay the same. My previous blogs were interesting to say the least, especially my first one, which for some reason centred around snacks...
When I was 12, around 4 or 5 of my friends had blogs so of course I had to jump on the bandwagon and create my own, and while my friends wrote about make up and lifestyle I of course decided it was a good idea to write about food- not even meals or recipes, I literally just wrote reviews on haribos and cornettos because at the time I was obsessed with some similar blogs for some reason (12 year old me was interesting to say the least). this blog was called 'a normal girl reviewing!!' (edgy right?) and featured some absolute bangers such as 'review!! randoms sweet and sour'. I regularly followed my mum around sainsburys just so I could photograph anything with a 'NEW!!' tag on it with my Samsung galaxy fame and post it to my blog which approximately 5 people read, probably only out of politeness. I'm sure you couldn't have guessed but that blog was unsurprisingly short lived and at some point I grew out of my snack blog obsession and moved on to bigger and better things...like makeup reviews.
I think I had 2 makeup/lifestyle type blogs and the main reason for this was that I wanted to do those types of videos on YouTube but my mum wouldn't let me so I resorted to a blog instead (I do have a channel now though check out those fire vlogs here). I guess the one advantage I had this time was that I could now take photos on an iPad instead of my Samsung so at least the quality had gone up in that aspect (although it definitely hadn't in any other aspects) Although I said I had two blogs of this type I genuinely can't remember the name of either of them but they had a few more readers than the snack blog since in the time between them I had learnt how to use twitter and decided it was a good idea to tell other small bloggers to read my blog- which they did, although I can't remember if any of the posts were actually decent or whether the views were just out of pity.
Anyway, 5 years later, attempting another blog yet again and still struggling to think of a name, maybe 'a normal girl (music) reviewing!!' would work as well as it did last time? Anyway if anyone has suggestions then hit me up with those and in the meantime I'm going to be glad that I can finally laugh at those past mistakes instead of cringe every time I get a timehop reminding me of those dark times. My posts will mostly centre around rock/indie/pop stuff and although it probably is better to stick to one genre, I'd hate to do that when I enjoy a lot of different things. I'm aiming to post a proper music related post sometime next week so stay tuned for that and in the meantime you should watch my vlogs so I can get the views up and finally qualify for adsense.
